Everyone’s heard of the Tesla Roadster… the electric sports car that all the tech tycoons and Hollywood types drive around. Well, I happened across a new electric sports car who claims to have unveiled at the 2004 Paris Motor Show before Tesla unveiled at the 2006 North American Auto Show.
France’s Venturi Fetish is a sleek and stylish electric sports car with a performance speed 0-100 km/h in a blistering 4 seconds. This two seater rear wheel drive can charge in 3 hours and uses lithium polymer batteries. It’s batteries can last approximately 1500 cycles and uses regenerative braking to supplement its power. On the Venturi website it mentions that the batteries require 45 kWh and continues to list that it would cost approximately 4.8 Euros (45 kWh X 0.1074 €) per charge. The chassis of the car is made from a carbon sandwich and aluminium honeycomb filler making it a light vehicle weighing in at a mere 1,125 Kilos.
Unfortunately, it’s still considered a Concept Vehicle and isn’t on the market yet. Anti-climactic, I know. But, something for you to think about… another alternative to the expensive Tesla Roadster. Check out the website: http://www.venturi.fr/ for more information. In the meantime, happy driving!
