Canadian Green Technology Announced
By GreenCompany | January 18, 2010
Often considered to be one of the more dirty industries when it comes to the wider environment, the oil and gas industry has been undergoing a green movement to help it clean up, reduce carbon emissions and more. The oil and gas industry will never be completely clean, but until a complete movement away from fossil fuels happens, the need will remain.
Automatic Coating had two announcements today regarding their green technologies. First was their securing of Pipe Viper International. Pipe Viper allows for both a cost-effective manner and a portable coating removal system for oil and gas pipelines. Through a patent pending process, they can safely and in an environmentally friendly manner remove coatings and clean the surface of the piping. Their system exceeds current environmental standards for waste removal as all waste is contained and bagged for proper removal and disposal.
The president of Automatic Coating Limited, Brad Bamford said of the technology, “This is an exciting innovation that we can build upon to deliver environmentally friendly pipe rehabilitation to the oil and gas industry. It is innovation that Automatic coating can build upon to provide innovative blasting and coating solutions that meet an environmental standard that was previously unattainable.”
As well Automatic Coating released information that it has completed in an environmentally friendly manner a pipe rehab project for Quebec company Gaz Metro.
