Attention Aspiring Green Entrepreneurs

By GreenCompany | March 19, 2010

Attention all aspiring green entrepreneurs, you now have the chance to not only reward the earth with your hard work, but also your pocket book. There is a “Greenvention” competition being held during the auditions for season six of CBC’s hit show the Dragons’ Den.

If you are unfamiliar with the Dragons’ Den, it’s a CBC television production where aspiring entrepreneurs can make their best sales pitch to a panel of Canadian business moguls. The Dragons cut right down to the rawest business essentials and will help fund those that convince them that their business is worth it.

The person with the best eco-friendly business to audition for the next season of Dragons’ Den could win $100,000. For the upcoming season, the Dragon’s Den is teaming up with Frito Lay Canada’s SunChips to look for Canada’s best Greenvention. Aspiring green entrepreneurs will be able to pitch their green inventions at the locally held auditions, or you can make your pitch to the Dragons online. Make sure you hurry though, as you only have until Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, for your chance to win the $100,000.

Green Company Canada highlighted Frito Lay’s new 100% compostable chip bag in a prior article. Tasty and good for the environment – a win win situation!

I love the Dragons Den show. It’s given me great insight into how to do my business plan – and of course the opposite – what not to do!
