Honda Canada Announces New Hybrid and Battery-Electric Vehicles

By GreenCompany | July 25, 2010

Honda Canada is slated to bring to the Canadian car market new environmentally friendly vehicles some time in 2012 or 2013. These vehicles include Honda’s plug-in hybrid and their new battery-electric powered vehicle. These green vehicles will first be introduced into the U.S. market. And as we have stated before on Green Company Canada – everywhere else seems to get new green technologies before the Canadian business and consumer markets…

The battery-electric vehicle will be seeing demonstration use in late 2010 through 2011 with users including Google Inc and Stanford University. Furthermore in California, the City of Torrance will get at least one plug-in hybrid electric vehicle for evaluation purposes in 2010.

For the wider consumer markets, Honda is promising to bring to the U.S. market in 2012 their battery-electric vehicle. This battery-electric vehicle is targeted towards consumers looking for a green choice for their commuting needs.

Honda Canada’s executive vice president Jerry Chenkin says of the vehicles, “For years, Honda has taken a portfolio approach to researching and developing optimum solutions for fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicles by studying a wide range of technologies. We intend to bring these two types of vehicles to Canada to give us an opportunity to evaluate our new technology in Canadian conditions, including consideration of partnerships which could offer further benefits to our customers.”

Honda is a leading vehicle manufacturer and retailer in Canada. Honda has built some 5.3 million trucks and cars at its Ontario manufacturing plants. In 2009 Honda Canada says between their Acura and Honda vehicle lines, 91 per cent of their vehicles sold in Canada were assembled in their North American assembly plants.

To:Dear Honda Canada Customer Relation Dpt.

I was planing to purchase new 2012 Honda CRV.
    1. Why the company keeps secret relevant information including pictures from potential customers
If this continues, I will purchase another vehicle from the manufacturer who is taking customers seriously and informs of new models in advance.
    2. Why Honda is not selling in Canada vehicles with clean diesel engines
