Solar Panel Manufacturing Problems

By Green Guest | February 18, 2010

The incorporation of solar panels, in regular products and even in automobiles has been useful to some extent in reducing the global dependency on fossil fuels. Even though solar power is thought to be a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels, the exorbitant amount of chemicals and energy consumed for manufacturing the solar panels is the darker side of it, and it must be accounted for. This article looks closer at solar cells and suggests some methods of producing and modifying solar cells in a cleaner and greener way.

In a report released by Crystal Clear for the European Energy Commission, it stated that for manufacturing one square meter of solar cell, it consumes energy which produces 75 to 314 kg of CO2. The report further states that installation of solar cells in a suitable sunny region cost 600 to 3140 kg of CO2 and in a cloudy region the figure is some 6280 kg.

Making Use of Solar Thermal Systems in Recreational Vehicles

By Green Guest | February 14, 2010

When it comes to travel people want comfort and this is especially so in their recreational vehicles. Traveling with a recreational vehicle can be a touch greener with the use of a solar panel kit. The application of solar power and its ability to do so much more than simply provide forms of energy is a great way to really reduce the impact of the recreational vehicles on the environment. Solar thermal systems are a great way to save money while providing you with the comfort you need while on the road. There are several different systems that can be used to ensure that you are able to do what you need. Ensure that you take the time to look into what is available for you to use in your RV. Several different models of recreational vehicles have the ability to upgrade their internal systems to solar thermals systems to take advantage of the sunlight we receive nearly every day.

Carbon Capture and Storage Technology

By Green Guest | February 6, 2010

The practical storage options for carbon capture are suspending the carbon matter in mineral blocks and injection deep into oceanic masses or geological sites. This is reminiscent of burial of nuclear waste material and trash dumping sites, but with more technological add-in and greater cost. But critics of carbon capture and geological mineral carbonate deposits raise questions of ultimate environmental viability.

The additional cost and demand for fuels to process the capture carbons into mineral or deposit eligible from can cripple any savings or benefit scenario. To capture the carbon from air or particulate matter is one process, sequestering or storing the carbon storage volumes is another. Even if an originating commercial enterprise or entity is willing to pay the cost, the process is burdensome, experimental, and not without critics.

Carbon Capture Is It The Answer To Carbon Emissions?

By Green Guest | February 6, 2010

Today’s challenges of providing energy and fuel for transportation, shipping, and commerce is blocked by a new awareness of concrete damage to the environment of by products and pollution, emissions and exhaust. Carbon emissions is one of the most serious concerns in any discussion of toxicity . This includes carbon storage after capture of matter and ultimate endpoint introduction into soils, air, and water tables.

The dynamics of carbon capture lie in the layer of carbon poisoning perceived to be most serious and threatening. Health risks for excessive carbon dioxide in the air we breathe, excessive carbon dioxide distribution into the air due to automobile exhausts, and exposure of climate and atmospheric conditions to mining and industrial processes emitting carbon dioxide require conscientious application of carbon capture to rebalance the natural order.
